Bluebird British International School is a leading early years education provider, specialising in preschool and primary education. Our passion for excellence makes Bluebird different from other schools in Phnom Penh. We choose the curriculum, shape our educational programmes and build a unique environment for your children to learn and develop a broad range of knowledge and skills that provide them the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
In the EYFS framework, children learn and develop in seven areas: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.
There are 17 early learning goals in the EYFS curriculum, covering your child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Parents can check their child's development at any stage against the early learning goals, using the ELGs guide.
Class teachers will review children's progress every term and share information with parents at PTCs. Your child's development will also be assessed at the end of the EYFS in which their profile will be developed when they turn 6 years old or move to Grade 1.
The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum sets quality standards and provides an integrated approach for learning, development and care of children from birth to five years old.
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is developed for children aged 5 - 11 years old. It is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum, with a clear process of learning and specific learning goals for every subject. It also develops international mindedness and encourages personal learning.
The national primary curriculum aims to build a strong foundation in literacy and mathematics and ensures that children develop their health, moral understanding, and learning & life skills.
