Areas of Learning & Development

In the EYFS framework, children learn and develop in seven areas: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design.

Early Learning Goals

There are 17 early learning goals in the EYFS curriculum, covering your child's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Parents can check their child's development at any stage against the early learning goals, using the ELGs guide.

Progress Check

Class teachers will review children's progress every term and share information with parents at PTCs. Your child's development will also be assessed at the end of the EYFS in which their profile will be developed when they turn 6 years old or move to Grade 1.
